What is this plant?: A tree bearing fruit on its branches in small bunches

In-Game Description: What? were you raised in a barn?! Everyone knows cherries are the food of the gods. The cherry boasts a beautiful innocent pink blossom who's beauty is unparalleled.

Authors In-Depth Description: Because the cherry tree is well known in its blossoming stage and because it would help it to look unique from the other trees in the game, this tree will be shown in blossom with the fruits on it as well in the games design. The cherries, despite growing in larger bunches in reality, will also be shown in the iconic double cherry way for easy identification.

What is this plant?: A Tree with nuts in its branches

In-Game Description: An acorn tree often looks like any other tree but if you carefully in their branches you can find acorns. Squirrels like to bury them to grow more trees.

Authors In-Depth Description: The design will likely be different in the game as it will need to be definitive as an individual tree and fit with its environment.

In-Game Description: Pistachio trees are rather thin compared to most trees and their nuts grow in large bunches so the underground calm climate is better for them.

Authors In-Depth Description: The tree may be designed for the game in a more weak visage to match the area it resides. It may also sport different colours and patterns.

What is this plant?: A tree which grows nuts in its branches

In-Game Description: It may seem funny to see a coconut tree here but this is one strong tree. Rather than being in a strong shell like other nuts, the nut is tough like the shell itself.

Authors In-Depth Description: Of course a coconut tree is not meant to be in this kind of area but this game is a strange one so things are different. Again, the trees design will likely be adapted to look pretty different in leaf, bark pattern and colours to be more appropriate for the area it resides in the game.

What is this plant?: A tree with nuts growing from its branches

In-Game Description: Brazil Nut Trees are huge tall trees with large trunks. The nuts grow inside giant shells which hold clusters of maybe 10 or so nuts inside.

Authors In-Depth Description: The in-game description is very much true for how the trees and nuts grow in real life. I found it interesting so I kept it as the description but I am not sure if the actual design of the tree in the game will follow the same detail as it may make it hard to tell which nut it grows. I found this tree to be perfect to put in this location of the game as it fits the areas theme of large trees although it may still need to be adapted a little since the area is not reminiscent of the same type of tree as the real brazil nut tree.

What is this plant?: A tree which grows nuts in its branches
 
In-Game Description: Despite hazelnuts looking so tough, they actually come from rather weak trees so they live near the waterfall where the winds aren't as strong.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: The hazelnut tree in reality is actually a rather tough tree but coz of its context in the game itself I have claimed it to be a weaker tree. Fruit and Nut trees only grow in the Sanctuary Waterfall area of HarshSands Desert due to the harsh conditions so the trees have been adapted as needed for this purpose. It also helps to keep them applying to their land of origin in the game as this not only helps you remember where it is and helps it to blend into the game but it also keeps the trees from looking too similar to each other. Even if the nuts may look similar to each other the trees colours and bark and leaf patterns may be very different to each other so you can always tell which tree is which.

What is this plant?: A tree which grows nuts in its branches
 
In-Game Description: A cashew tree is a strange sight to see. They don't grow nuts in shells like other trees but instead they grow on the end of a bright red lump which looks like a pepper.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: the in game description is accurate to the way a real cashew tree grows it nuts as I found it interesting when I researched it for the game. It is certainly an odd feature and I will definitely show it in the games design but the rest of the tree will likely look different to match the in-game area theme better.

What is this plant?: A tree which grows nuts on its branches
 
In-Game Description: almonds grow in double shelled bunches. The almond tree also blossoms with beautiful soft and very light pink flowers.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: The almond tree does blossom beautifully in real life but I doubt it would be a feature in the game. I might incorporate one or two of the flowers into the design for the simplified game version of the tree in order to reference it though. I order to keep with the simplistic identifiable style of the games concept art so far I may show the almonds as separate and not in bunches as they are in real life. However I didn't for the banana tree as it didn't feel right so maybe I will in the end. We will have to see which would work better once I create the art. If showing it in bunches doesn't look too out of place then I may do it after all.

In-Game Description: The kiwi tree is a sensitive and soft tree like the orange tree but these are local whereas the orange tree were blew into the cave.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: This tree grows in the wild in real life like a hedge or bush rather than a tree although it technically is a tree. In the game itself it looks like a weeping willow as this is appropriate to the bog it lives in the game.

In-Game Description: The orange tree, despite being a descendent of the lemon tree, is not as strong as its counterpart. It's weakness means it can only grow its fruits deep underground.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: Orange trees are not actually weak in real life but in the game world they are made of softer wood for the sake of crafting variety. I tried to make it make some sort of logical sense so that it could be easier to remember where things came from when you may need to go back to areas to find certain items to craft. Even so, there should be a way of finding out where things are in the game itself after you have found at least one of the item already.

In-Game Description: Just like a lot of other things in the area, the lemon tree is one strong tree able to stand all manor of rock and rubble. It's fruits reflect its strength.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: I have added spikes to the design to make it seem tough like the in-game description says. It is in a tough rocky ground area so this makes more sense in the context of the game. Each tree needs to look distinctive and appropriate for the setting so these changes are appropriate.

What is this plant?: It is a tropical tree which grows fruits in its branches
 
In-Game Description: The passion fruit tree was an unfortunate name for it. People would believe it would bring love but in the end the beach became more of a romantic location.
 
Authors In-Depth Description: This tree grows in the wild in real life like a hedge or bush rather than a tree although it technically is a tree. In the game itself it will be shown to grow like an apple tree to make things simpler. I have also changed it to be a tropical tree in the game as it will be associated with the tropical area within the waterfall part of HarshSands Desert.

What is this plant?: A tree than grows its fruits in bunches in its branches
 
In-Game Description: These plants grow their fruits in large bunches. The leaves of the banana tree were used by the locals to make house roofs a long time ago.
Authors In-Depth Description: not much to say other than it is a tropical tree that grows bunches of bananas. It is obvious they grow in the beach area of the game although not all plants grow in the areas they normally would in this game. A simple design is all that is needed for this.

In-Game Description: Pears are not to everyone's taste but this tree grows them anyway. Such a trooper! You keep growing tree! *sniff*
 
Authors In-Depth Description: This tree is a basic fruit giving tree which you find in one of the earliest areas of the game. It is used for easy recipes but can also be used in harder recipes later in the game so you may revisit them. It is used in a very simple design in the game itself.

What is this plant?: A wild harvestable walnut bearing tree

In-Game Description: The walnut tree is a simple tree. Easy to identify and it grows big and strong. It is often a great tree to sit under on a nice evening.

Authors In-Depth Description: With similar looking trees, it's a little hard to always come up with something for the description. I also wonder how I will make the trees stand out from each other. I may have to make some changes to their appearance from what they are in real life such as strange colours or making the nuts appear larger so you can see clearly what it grows. I may even show the nuts as they are without the shell to make it more obvious. I shall see when the time comes to make the sprites and concept art ideas.

What is this plant?: A wild harvestable apple fruit bearing tree

In-Game Description: The humble apple tree is the local tree of the area and it is recognised as such. These trees are also the reason the apple fish roams the areas waters

Authors In-Depth Description: This is a simple apple tree. Nothing that unusual for an RPG. It is a good starting point for the games plants as there are plenty of easy recipes that use apples which can make this plant relevant in early cooking skills. However, apples are an integral part of a lot of recipes, not just easy ones so this plant and its harvest will still be relevant as you progress through the game. Further description of the apple tree in-game will be unlikely due to its insignificance to the history of the land and such.
