M.E.G.A. Craft the ultimate crafting RPG

This website is for me to show my workings and updates for a project I am working on. I think this will help to keep me motivated lol. I am creating a game in RPG Maker called M.E.G.A. Craft or Marvellous Extreme Giga Awesome Craft for its full name. Yes I know the title is stupid it is a comedy game. However, don't expect loads of progress at a time and lots of updates as I am working on this on my own. See the 'project details' post for more information.

In-Game Description: Despite looking like a sea fish, they actually live in freshwater. When they are young they can live with other species but go with their own kind when older.

Authors In-Depth Description: there are actually many types of angelfish and not all of them are in this shape either but this is the one everyone associates with the name, the freshwater angelfish.

In-Game Description: This jellyfish is more plant than jelly. It has to sit on top of the water every now and then in order to get some sunshine to keep its flowers blooming.

Authors In-Depth Description: This jellyfish is plant element so it has moss all over it, vines for stingers and flowers blooming from its top. This how I would like to make my design but the picture below shows another way of doing it. I might use a bit of this as inspiration to my design if I can without it being too cluttered a design.

In-Game Description: A jellyfish that tastes like grapes. The end combination is like grape jelly and makes a delicious dessert. Grape jellyfish is a very popular treat in this area.

Authors In-Depth Description: There is no such thing as a grape jellyfish of course but I am making a fish for each fruit in the game so here it is. Below is the best example I could find of a grape-like jellyfish but mostly it will be of my own design. I was thinking of having it similar to the example below but it would have grapes down its stingers as well, making it look pretty unique.

In-Game Description: A legendary shark more fierce than the worst normal shark. It is said to have lived many years ago and were so big it could eat whales and somehow you caught one.

Authors In-Depth Description: Megalodon is actually supposed to have actually existed a very long time ago so technically isn't a myth but it is an amazing idea anyway so I am using it. I like the rendition below as this makes it look a little different to the other sharks in the game, especially if I add something for scale and/or scars.

In-Game Description: Newts are like little Salamanders. They are very cute but some are poisonous and brand bright colours. This however encourages us to have them as exotic pets.

Authors In-Depth Description: I picked a very colourful and poisonous newt as my inspiration for my in-game design as it makes it more identifiable by its bright colours and more interesting.

In-Game Description: This fish is so called as it uses a shining light as bait to lure unsuspecting fish close enough to eat. How ironic you caught it doing the same thing.

Authors In-Depth Description: Although the real Angler fish looks like the first example below, they are often shown with more exaggerated features such as the 2nd example below. I will likely use a mixture between the two for my in-game design.

In-Game Description: Well this is unexpected. Its a pond frog! It can't have been easy to get this thing to bite your line. Did you use a fly as bait?

Authors In-Depth Description: There are many kinds of frog but I decided to pick the green tree frog due to its easy to identify colour and the relevance it has to the environment of trees which is lives in as this is also appropriate to the Forest of Re-Creation which it resides in the game. A plain green frog is also often the visage of a general frog in video games as well. The frog is an amphibian and likely one of the only ones if not the only one in the game so it is in the other category.

What is this plant?: A stem plant with a single flower on the top

In-Game Description: The rose is one of the most iconic flowers ever, best known for its red and pink variations. This flower is often used as a symbol of delicate beauty.

Authors In-Depth Description: This flower naturally grows with a bunch of others on a climbing vine plant but for the sake of simplicity in cartoons and video games they are often shown as growing from a single stem as an individual plant. This game is no different as this helps to simplify the design for the game and helps it fit in with its environment. There may be other colours of rose in the game in the future but this depends on the variety needed for the tailor crafting part of the game.

In-Game Description: An acorn tree often looks like any other tree but if you carefully in their branches you can find acorns. Squirrels like to bury them to grow more trees.

Authors In-Depth Description: The design will likely be different in the game as it will need to be definitive as an individual tree and fit with its environment.

What is this plant?: A tree with nuts growing from its branches

In-Game Description: Brazil Nut Trees are huge tall trees with large trunks. The nuts grow inside giant shells which hold clusters of maybe 10 or so nuts inside.

Authors In-Depth Description: The in-game description is very much true for how the trees and nuts grow in real life. I found it interesting so I kept it as the description but I am not sure if the actual design of the tree in the game will follow the same detail as it may make it hard to tell which nut it grows. I found this tree to be perfect to put in this location of the game as it fits the areas theme of large trees although it may still need to be adapted a little since the area is not reminiscent of the same type of tree as the real brazil nut tree.

What is this plant?: A vine which grows bunches of grapes

In-Game Description: A single grape vine can hold 40 grapes. Now that's a lotta grapes there. Not as delicate as you might think, they are not magical like the other plants in the forest.

Authors In-Depth Description: The vines may be different in the game than in real life such as climbing in a different way or even being a standing vine plant. Whatever the changes the game demands.

In-Game Description: This forest is said to be the starting point of all life after a great disaster hit the land many years ago. Strange magical animals live here.

Authors In-Depth Description: This forest is different to the previous forest (can you guess I like forests in games lol) as this one is all green and full of twisting vines and fauna. The creatures are part plant part animal like things which are obviously plant type. Not much else to it really. It is very green with thick green vines, large trees and mossy rocks everywhere. Different stuff up for grabs to craft with.
