Progress with food and plant items

I have collected my notes by location to see where I am up to. I have almost everything ready for cooking item wise in Beginner Grasslands and Sunny Hills early areas. All the fruit trees and plants, nut plants and normal types of flowers are logged and categorised (but still to be transferred to here) and basic produce of meats, milks and eggs are almost sorted to. I am almost done with the food and basic produce parts of the game and now I am working on the last part of this which is the vegetables which are going to be dropped by enemies as to not crowd the areas with plant life. I am logging descriptions and their locations right now. Once this is done then monsters will be created for the items or the items will be allocated to existing monsters so they have a reasonable place to be collected from. Then I will move onto the next stage of development where I fix up the rest of the monsters based on material needs such as elemental items for magic and clothes material items for tailor crafting. Once this is done (which should be easier than the food section due to the need of less items per area and it would be less complex than the food) then I should be able to really start recording the items on here without fear of them changing majorly. Once all these main sections are done then I will be able to properly balance the money balance of each item accordingly. I have already completed the list of fish in the game which is a good indicator of value so I will use this as a guide. While I work on these things to make the other parts of this game substantial I shall use this info to update the info on the locations with the trees, nuts, plants and fish which have already been confirmed. Hope it makes sense. I hope to get this done soon maybe within a month. Then the ball will really start to roll as I can show you more on this site. the preparation will be done basically. Hope u enjoy this and continue to keep track and if you are revisiting thank you for taking an interest!

This area is the last in the whole game and the most difficult of all. It is full of holy element creatures as well as some wind and even some from all the other areas you have been to before. It is full of clouds and ancient temple structures and bits and pieces of many places you have been to before. This area will challenge you and prepare you for the final boss in the game and the biggest rewards possible to gain. Once you have beaten this place there is nothing you cannot do!

Located: Within SingSong Beach

Category: Location, cave

Dominating Enemy Types: Darkness

In-Game Description: Do I hear people moaning? crying? even screaming?! nononono I don't like it! It's so dark! I want to go home!

Authors In-Depth Description: After visiting previous locations you will have explored all of the open areas of the game but there are more places to go within caves in the places you have been before. None of the caves in these previous areas are open to you, until you finish a story mission within Wishing Wind Plains and visited all other past locations for their story missions. This area is very dark and creepy hidden in the depths of the happy seaside resort of SingSong Beach. Why is this here and who created these evil creatures? You will have to wait to play and find out! :3 The place is full of dark goop, shadowy creatures and old creepy structures. Even here there is wildlife and plants but do you really want to harvest them? This is near the end of the game and a very dangerous area indeed.

NO SPRITE ART YET

Location Name: Underground Bog

Located: Within HarshSands Desert

Category: Location, Cave

Dominating Enemy Types: Poison

In-Game Description: Who would have thought that this desert would have such a lush mossy world underneath! Delicate but strong wildlife live here as well as soft plants.

The Underground Bog is largely undiscovered due to the dangerous poisonous creatures there but there are high rewards for exploring and being able to hunt down the rare soft plant fruits, nuts and creatures. This area is green all around with moss, weeds and fungus. Most of the place is covered in green water as well so it is a prime fishing spot but it is also cramped for fighting enemies. Careful not to get poisoned down here. This place can certainly be dangerous if you are not careful. The Sea flows all around the little land that is left from a hole in the land leading to the Sea and has left it all very wet and boggy.

Location Name: Mysterious Factory

Located: Within Diggin Ditch
(going up through a mountain within Wishing Wind Plains with an entrance there as well but only usable later in the game)

Category: Location, cave

Dominating Enemy Types: Electric

In-Game Description: What is a factory doing here? It seems this place hasn't been touched for centuries but you can see machines chugging away. How strange

Authors In-Depth Description: After visiting previous locations you will have explored all of the open areas of the game but there are more places to go within caves in the places you have been before. Wishing Wind Plains was the last place you went to so it makes sense to go somewhere nearby. None of the caves in these previous areas are open to you, until you finish a story mission within Wishing Wind Plains and visited all other past locations for their story missions. This cave features strange large rusty machinery pumping away around you and creatures which seem to be half beast and half machine. There are oil spills everywhere which serve the purpose of the usual lakes and ponds around the other locations. There is even an oil waterfall. It is a very strange place which despite being mechanical seems to be trying to act like a place of nature. Nevertheless, some nature has managed to thrive here as fish in the oil somehow but no natural plants grow here. well not 100% natural anyway. Everything here is mysterious and strange. What is the secret behind this place I wonder? you will have to wait and see :3 Since revising the fishing system, I need a Sea source in this location. The rivers where already planned for and potential ponds if needed. I was thinking of having the sea coming in through a hole in the mountain side we are in at back of the cave. There the Sea will come into a small area it has made for itself but the water will become effected like the other water sources once it enters the cave.

Location Name: Wishing Wind Plains

Category: Location

Dominating Enemy Types: Wind

In-Game Description: Harsh winds have swept this land for years. The valleys and mountains around have caused the wind to catch inside causing dangerous tornados.

Authors In-Depth Description: This lands is constantly being blown by strong winds so many wind creatures live here. You will not find many flowers and plants around here other than very strong hardy ones which can stand the wind without being pulled out of the ground. The lakes which used to be here have also been swept of water and any water you do find will have very strong waves and currents on it. This place is dangerous and you should be careful where you go as you may find yourself in trouble quickly. There may be wandering tornados which will cause damage or sweep you away here.

NO SPRITE ART YET

Location Name: Diggin Ditch

Category: Location

Dominating Enemy Types: Earth

In-Game Description: A large ditch full of nothing but dirt and rock. Some say it was left after a huge avalanche or explosion. Only the hardiest beasts live here.

Authors In-Depth Description: The other areas you have been to until now have been relatively nice looking although getting progressively tougher but this is when things start to get really harsh and a bit trickier. not a difficulty spike but a sign of things being harder ahead and good preparation for tougher elements and less pretty and explorable environments. Things are only gonna get trickier from here. The area is a big thick path of brown dirt with rocks and boulders all around. Despite this, there are plants growing and creatures to battle but they are much hardier in defence and u may need to think of new strategies to beat them. This part forces you to not use levelling as your advantage in every battle but to use some more elemental effects and items instead to gain the upper hand. Hopefully a welcome change and not a frustrating one. The area is pretty straight forward design wise as it is a large straight line with not much twists and turns and pretty small compared to other areas. Since revising the fishing system, I will need a Sea source in this location. The other fishing sources are easy and already planned to be there but the Sea source is a tricky one. However, I have a great idea! Heavenly Respite should be above the Diggin Ditch and there is water up there so it would make sense to have the water from that coming down into the ditch. This way I won't have to majorly change the design to have access to the Sea source! The water in Heavenly Respite is only river and pond water though but I would presume the falling down from heaven would have an effect on the water don't you? ;3

More updates coming soon and Elemental Typing

Hey guys! Sorry I left it so long but life just got in the way as it does you know. Been looking back at my notes and I have sorted out the element balance so check out the notes below to see what's what.

It shows the types which are strong which are NOT counting the main element in case you are wonder so yes they are still strong against ones of their same type.

the ones with question marks and brackets are not confirmed as much as the others. I am not sure whether to have that extra disadvantage to normal and advantage to holy type. Holy type will be one you get much later in the game so I want it to be more powerful than the others and normal is an early game one so it makes sense for it to be the weakest. The others are equally balanced but those two are not. That way Holy will only be matched by Normal type which ironically will be the easiest enemies otherwise. This puts an interesting spanner in the works in my opinion but if it makes the game too biased or unplayable in some way then it may be removed at a later stage. Also fighting and lightning type ma be removed for the case of simplicity if needed at a later stage. everything is subject to change later but for now I believe this is a solid ground to work on. I hope you like it. Tell me if you have any questions and if you see a problem. Will be working on some more of the data base tomorrow if I can since I still have a lot to add to this from my notes. I also have not too much left to fiddle around with in my notes before it is substantial for a basic crafting game so hold your horses coz lots of stuff may be coming your way soon. Anyways, sorry for the big gaps in development but I hope you like what I am doing and check up every now and then to see what's up. See ya tomorrow :3
